History

Accord Financial was established in 1978 in response to a growing need for flexible financing solutions for business. The company’s founder and current Chairman, Ken Hitzig, identified a need, primarily in the small-to-mid-sized business sector, that wasn’t being met by traditional lenders. Mr. Hitzig had a vision to create a company that could partner with businesses to identify and deliver responsive and reliable financing solutions.

As part of our strategy to bring financing solutions to a broader range of businesses, Accord acquired Montcap Financial Corp. based in Montreal, Canada, and JTA Factors in Greenville, South Carolina, in 1992, which later became Accord Financial Inc. and Accord Financial, Inc., respectively. This expansion has extended Accord’s reach and given the company even more ways to deliver responsive, flexible financing options. Our company has grown dramatically since 1978, but our goal—to keep business liquid—has remained our driving force.

Accord Financial is publicly traded on the Toronto Stock Exchange as TSX:ACD.
